The business was born from the need to supply materials handling equipment specialising primarily in equipment that can handle ocean going containers and related cargoes.
From 1997 to 2003 the business entered into negotiations with various international distributors and manufacturers of materials handling equipment in order to create a relationship to expand its business from not only leasing plant but to include sales and services. These negotiations lead to Big Lift Trucks approaching one of the worlds leading manufacturers and subsequently being appointed as the sole agents for Africa to Taylor Works International of Louisville, Mississippi, USA.
At this time Big Lift Trucks also investigated other 'niche' market material handling equipment manufactured by European and Australian company's and now represents some of the most unique equipment on the world market.
Today Big Lift Trucks can proudly say that it can offer its clients unparalleled sales and support which range from the import and sale of equipment as specified by a client, a maintenance plan on new or existing machines, route servicing of all makes of machines, operator supply and training, the rental of machines or complete machine supply coupled with operation management.
Big Lift Trucks knows that its equipment is far superior to that of its competitors as has been proven throughout other parts of the world and is able to offer clients reduced down time and greater savings in running costs over the equipments life span.
